Good news week Part II

Last Friday I had a very important message on my voicemail: "Hullo, it's me.. just to tell you, my leave has been approved. Talk to you soon." That was my mum .. meaning .. she'll come Down Under!! Yay! A gazillion times yay!!!! So earlier this week we booked her flight tickets and she’ll land into Sydney on Jan 21 for 2 weeks and a bit. And more good news ... drumroll please... yesterday my leave has been approved too!!! Yeeee-ha!!! As you can imagine I’ve got great plans for us but I don’t want to give too much away just yet. I’ll tell you more when it’s all finalised.

One year ago...

.. I entered the realm of fitness! (Yup, that's a photo of my gym club)

Who would have thought?? I love sport but from the comfort of a couch or my bed.. erm don't get me wrong, I only mean watching TV while I'm in bed :) .. but after turning 30 I started thinking that I should do something about my (low) level of fitness + tone up a bit before gravity settles in .. and I did! .. and.. I even renewed my membership! Good on me.

Twice a week (on average) I get up at the crack of dawn to be at the gym at 6am, exercise for about an hour and a bit, then get ready for work. Not only I'm fitter but also happier and I feel less guilty when my eating habits are not so healthy :)

Now.. I'd be curious to know how many ks I ran, how many kgs I lifted, how many litres of sweat oozed out of my body.. actually no.. I don't want to know that.. yuck!

Good news week

Earlier this week, I finallly got the news I'd been waiting for... the dates of the Super 14 2009 season have been released!! Yay!! You can't see me but I'm telling you that I'm jumping with joy and I'm sure C#2 is rolling her eyes in disbelief...

Now I can start organising my life around those dates and start planning a few trips interstate and overseas.. by overseas I mean NZ, though going to Saffaland is very tempting but unless I get a significant pay rise next year, and it is veeeery unlikely - not that I wouldn't deserve it haha, I won't be able to afford such a treat.

Aaah those Friday / Saturday nights at the SFS (and elsewhere), enjoying some good rugby, screaming my lungs out, wishing that Tah Man would take me to Tah Land :) ... I can't wait!!

Breakfast at Cafe Sydney's

Don’t you just love when your boss is too busy to attend all the functions he’s invited to and occasionally he passes on to you an invitation?? I sure do, so.. this is how my day started:

Yummy canapés, both sweet and savoury (my favourites: tiny puff pastry filled with omelette and tiny chocolate muffins) going down nicely with fresh blood orange juice. .. oooh heavenly delicious!! And…one of the bands featured on the album, Urban Gypsies, was playing live!! And … yes, the cover photo is the actual view from Café Sydney, that is Le Bridge and L’Opera .. I never get tired of it!! And…that’s not all.. we were also given a free copy of the CD!! Pretty cool, huh?

I [heart] my job.
